Lauren had another good day of therapy. She did particularly well in speech therapy. She can now stick out her tongue on command. It sounds silly, but this will help strengthen the muscles in her tongue to help her eat.
Her tracheotomy tube was downsized today. This is this final step before it is removed completely. We're all very happy about that. Clearly, she is uncomfortable with that tube in her throat. It will probably be removed in a week.
She's been using her right arm a little bit more, but it still needs prayer attention.
There was a time when Lauren had a vacant look on her face. That time is now history. Lauren is aware, and quite coherent. With every day that passes, Lauren appears more and more focused. She is determined to get better.
Keep the prayers coming, please!
