Yes or No

When someone is unconscious and bedridden for extended periods of time, their feet often point straight down and lose flexibility. To prevent this, Lauren has been fitted with special boots that push her feet to a 90 degree angle with her ankle. This should make it easier and less painful for her to walk.

Lauren had another good day of physical therapy. The highlight of the day came when her therapist asked her some "yes or no" questions.

Are you twenty-five years old?

She shook her head "no."

Are you nineteen years old?

She shook her head "yes."

Is your boyfriend's name Dustin?

She shook her head "yes."
She is grasping what people are saying and responding correctly. Another small victory, but a victory none the less.

The new wheelchair Lauren tried out today is working well. Now we can take her outside, or for a stroll around the hospital.
