Lauren's time at the Children's Institute has been well spent. She improved within just a few hours of being there. She continues to improve little by little everyday. However, she still has some hurdles to overcome. Physically, she's doing very good. Balance and strength will increase in time. She still favors her left arm over her right, even though she writes with her right hand.
The main area of concern remains to be her brain. Her cognitive faculties aren't what they should be. It's very common for people with Lauren's type of injury to suffer some loss they'll never recover. Lauren, on the other hand, has been defying the odds since day one, and has skipped certain "steps" in the brain healing process.
She is doing great, and we are very happy with her progress, but we hope for the best for her. A full recovery will still require much work from her. Pray for her to want that for herself.
Thank you all for all the concern, prayers, letters, and visits.
