Lauren is out of the ICU. She had been there for eighteen days. She is now on the fourth floor at Hamot. We are all very happy about this.
What's more, visitations are now available for people outside the immediate family. From 2p.m. to 8p.m., her room is open to visitors. She is in Room 437. Please call ahead before stopping in.
Cell phones aren't allowed up there, but fortunately her room has a phone. The number is 814-877-4437. If you plan to visit, give my parents a call. Calling first will help them traffic guests.
Since Lauren is quite close to leaving the hospital to begin rehabilitation, now is the time to visit her. In rehab, the visitation times will most likely decrease.
Lauren's nurse told my parents that last night, while she was walking around her room, Lauren followed her with her eyes. Today, she is touching her face and hair with her hands. Little details, I know, but wonderful to see.
Thank you all once again for all the comments, phone calls, cards, and prayers.
Let's continue praying for Lauren to respond to voice commands, and above all, for her to make a complete recovery.
