Yesterday, a nurse spent two hours untangling the mess in Lauren's hair. When visiting time resumed that evening, we all were able to see Lauren looking beautiful and more like herself.
A case worker should be contacting my parents today about rehabilitation. It is possible she could be out of the ICU by this weekend.
A few people have asked about how they can help. The biggest thing you can do is pray every single time you think of Lauren or her family. Passing along this web page to anyone who prays also helps. Help us storm the gates of Heaven with our request to completely restore Lauren's mental faculties.
On behalf of my family, I'd like to thank everyone who has given us support throughout this painful ordeal. We are by no means finished, but the support thus far has meant so much to us all. The prayers, the phone calls, the visits in the ICU waiting room, the cards, and the flowers have meant the world to us. Thank you all.
