Lauren is heading south tomorrow at around 9 a.m. to begin her rehab at the Children's Institute in Pittsburgh. She will be there between six to eight weeks. A representative from the Children's Institute came to Hamot and their goal is the same as ours; getting Lauren to be as independent as possible. The first thing they'll do is work on getting her off the tracheotomy tube. We are all thrilled to be at this stage.
A physical therapist came in this morning to see Lauren, and they were very pleased with her progression over the past four days. The therapist, along with several doctors, anticipate good things from Lauren in rehab.
My dad has been staying with Lauren overnight in her room since Thursday, and tonight is his last night there. Pray he has a good evening without too much exhaustion.
We'd continue to ask for prayer for her to respond to voices, and a complete recovery.
Pray she also has a safe transportation to Pittsburgh.
Today is the last day to visit Lauren for two months. Please call ahead.
